The Man from London

Tarr’s stunning, sorely underrated black-and-white crime film, adapted from a novel by Simenon, follows (more like languorously tracks) a railroad switchman after he discovers a suitcase full of money. There are all sorts of repercussions, and they build to a sublime and devastating final close-up.
