Time Out says

Kaurismäki’s tale of a down-and-out amnesiac and his tender relationship with a stone-faced Salvation Army soldier (Kati Outinen) treads much the same ground as the Finnish auteur’s previous films. Same actors, same deadpan tone, same fetish for American rockabilly—and you’re left with the same vaguely dissatisfied feeling that there ought to have been something more.
