The Young Girls Turn 25

Varda took her late husband Jacques Demy’s 1967 film, The Young Girls of Rochefort, interwove footage of the original musical with contemporary snippets she shot, then released it as a tribute to the original picture’s silver anniversary. Watching her valentine to the movie feels a little like a champagne buzz.
