Touchez Pas au Grisbi

Also known as Don’t Touch the Loot, Becker’s tough-minded heist picture stars a rugged Jean Gabin opposite the seductive (and incredibly young) Jeanne Moreau. Its influence permeates the more famous films that followed in its wake, especially Rififi, which takes its temperamental cue from Becker’s emphasis on process over flash.
