Two Stage Sisters

A peasant girl hides in the caravan of a traveling opera group and soon becomes one of its members. Fame and consequences follow. The film so angered Cultural Revolution instigator Jiang Qing that she had her guards destroy the 16th-century stage that appears in the opening sections.
