Dowdy Katharine Hepburn marries charming Robert Taylor, but his increasingly suspicious behavior suggests he may be hiding a murderous secret. Minnelli’s noirish melodrama—complete with a windswept country house and a surprisingly sensitive Robert Mitchum—deserves a better reputation.
