Way Down East

MoMA restored this classic Griffith melodrama to its original length back in 1985, and it’s that version that will be screened. The innocent-defiled plot is a bit creaky, to be honest, but Lillian Gish and Richard Barthelmess do superb work, as ever. Ben Model will provide musical accompaniment.
