Time Out says

Inspiring such directors as Chaplin, Cocteau and Truffaut, this short about a boys’ boarding school that catches the rebellion bug is the work most responsible for solidifying Jean Vigo’s reputation as a poet of images. Anyone who’s seen the movie, especially the dreamlike pillow-fight sequence, would be hard-pressed to argue otherwise. It screens with Werner Herzog's 14-minute short "No One Will Play With Me" (1976).
