Pastry chef turned Mexican-food whiz Alex Stupak offers five-course prix-fixe menus at both of his Empellón locations. At Cocina, the tasting includes plenty of shared plates, such as guacamole with pistachios, melted tetilla cheese with lobster, and Oaxacan baby back ribs. At Taqueria, meanwhile, guests can dig into antojitos, shared queso fundidos and a choice of six different tacos, including beer-braised tongue with potatoes and arbol chile salsa. Gratis beer (draft Pacifico and cans of Modelo Especial), sparkling wine (Anna de Codorníu Brut) and margaritas are included in the price, which starts at $75 for early diners (5–7pm) and goes up to $85 (7:15–9:15pm) and $105 (9:30–11:30pm) for later seatings.
