East River Moon Festival

Celebrate the full harvest moon at this annual outdoor East Asian fair. Watch a traditional Chinese lion dance performance with cymbals and drums, or attend a free dumpling-making demo, hosted by chef Wai Hon Chu (Whole Foods Culinary Center). You can chow down on Asian-inflected eats ($5–$10), including Chinese moon cakes, banh mi from Brooklyn Cured, and a five-spice duck tartlet from forthcoming Brooklyn restaurant Runner & Stone. Kids can construct their own lanterns for the lantern-lighting finale at sundown in a craft workshop. Donations are suggested.
