Inspired by plans for New York's first foodcentric museum—expected to open in 2019—founder Dave Arnold invites eight top chefs, including Alder’s Wylie Dufresne and Dirt Candy’s Amanda Cohen, to curate an eight-course dinner. Each toque will interpret one of the museum's future exhibits: for example, food on the battlefield as imagined by pastry whiz Dominique Ansel, and TV dinners by Gramercy Tavern chef Michael Anthony. Jeffrey Porter (Del Posto) will select the night’s wine pairings, while Arnold himself will create a special cocktail list.
