Smith Street Soup Festival

Take a soup-fueled stroll along Brooklyn's Smith Street during this tasting event. Pony up $5 for five tasting tickets or $10 for a dozen (families $20 for 25), then swap them for steaming four-ounce samples of consommés, veloutés and peasant-style soups at restaurants such as Chestnut and Seersucker. A judging panel including TONY's own Chris Schonberger will be making the rounds as well—at the end of the day, they'll present golden ladles for the winning broths. Proceeds benefit the culinary arts program at the local public School for International Studies.
