Give your morning meal a Southeast Asian makeover at this edition of Ngam's monthly cooking class, led by chef-owner Hong Thaimee. Along with Thai tea and coffee (both made with Thai spices and condensed milk), Thaimee will demo four breakfast dishes. Learn how to make kha tom, a Thai rice porridge with brussels sprouts, spicy sausage and egg; sangkaya, grilled bread with a custard dipping sauce; and kanom krok, savory pancakes made with palm sugar custard, black sticky rice and coconut milk. You'll be able to sample each dish at the communal chef's counter—bring some extra cash to purchase a spicy Thai Bloody Mary or a pomegranate-chili Bellini ($8).
