At this lunchtime lecture, Zach Kutsher and partner Alan Wilzig will delve into the history of the famed Catskills resort that inspired their new eatery, Kutsher’s Tribeca. The pair will share their own tales from the annals of Kutcher's Country Club, which was founded in 1907 and gained notoriety for hosting athletes and entertainers like Wilt Chamberlain and Mel Brooks. They'll also shed light on the evolution of Jewish cooking as they discuss how classic Sephardic dishes like borscht and brisket have been updated at their downtown eatery. During the talk, guests can get in the mood with samples of homemade pastrami.
