French hairstylist Adel Chabbi has been working at hot spots throughout the city since 2000, such as Frédéric Fekkai and Pierre Michel. He opens his own three-chair salon, adorned with custom-made gilded mirrors and gothic black chandeliers. Walk-ins are welcome, but the small space lends itself to booking an appointment. Although the salon offers traditional services, such as haircuts ($80–$125), blowouts ($50–$80) and color ($80–$125), its speciality is extensions ($300–$3,800). Your stylist will match the Great Length extensions to your hair color, texture and length, dyeing or highlighting the strands if necessary to ensure a seamless look that lasts for up to six months. Be advised that the process can take up to three hours to complete. For a quicker update to your tresses, get a half-hour-long dry cut, a technique that helps to tame curly manes and give edgy shape to straight styles. As with all of the salon’s services, the express chop concludes with a gratis wash, dry, blowout and relaxing scalp massage. Be sure to grab some of the house-line products, such as sulfate- and paraben-free shampoo ($22), conditioner ($22) and volumizing spray ($19).
