Michael Angelo's Wonderland Beauty Parlor

Part salon, part boutique, this Meatpacking space is an emporium for the eyes. There’s the neon pink wonderland sign, the cushioned reception desk, the floating mermaid Barbies by the shampoo bowls, the clear plastic lawn chairs at the cutting stations, scratch-and-sniff wallpaper (try the cocktail wall for a citrus burst!), hanging shimmery paper and who knows what else. Cuts range from $99 to $250 and are accompanied by their signature pink lemonade and an offer to rock out with an iPod Nano. Also try the Brazilian blowout ($350), which uses mild chemicals to cut down on frizz with results lasting up to four months. On your way out, stop by the shop, which is stocked with anything and everything that Michael finds in his travels. Items here range from $3 to $1,500.
