When the shows and the shoots are done, the fashion and film folk flock to this luxe landing pad (it’s particularly busy during Fashion Week). In its days as the American Radiator Building, the hotel was immortalized by Georgia O’Keefe. Although the exterior (which you can appreciate up-close in one of several balconied rooms) is gothic art deco, the inside is all clean-lined and contemporary, with soft lighting, blanched hardwood floors, Tibetan rugs and soothing conveniences such as sleep-aiding sound machines and Bose Wave radios. A section of the room service menu is devoted to vibrators and other forms of adult recreation, but don’t worry, you can also order in from the house restaurant, slick sushi destination Koi.
