For most of us, social media is a fun daily diversion, but for some local artists, outlets like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr are becoming show spaces for their work, helping them reach a wider audience than any art gallery could. For its new exhibit, “Interface: Queer Artists Forming Communities Through Social Media," the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art has rounded up a diverse set of creators who have connected with art lovers (and each other) online. These colorful, thought-provoking images will be on view—for free!—all summer.
