BRIC is a truly amazing organization in Brooklyn that offers free cultural programming to the public. Free concerts in Prospect Park during the summer are brought to you by BRIC. So are events like slam poetry, jazz fest, panel discussions on gentrification that make you feel like you're back in sociology class in college (in a good way), etc. It supports performing arts and media and even offers internships and residencies and classes/workshops for artists. The building Fort Greene is beautiful and has a theater, a space for art exhibitions and other things. I wish there were more places like BRIC. It's a gem.
