Phosphorescent is a Brooklyn (by way of Athens, GA) band featuring singer-songwriter Matthew Houck and a cast of hirsute rogues. Houck’s voice cracks and moans in ways reminiscent of Will Oldham, yet over the course of five albums, he’s become something of a bona fide rock star; new disc Here’s to Taking It Easy plays like a grooving update of the Stones’ Exile on Main Street. Reading tonight is Sloane Crosley, author of the recently published, hilarious essay collection How Did You Get This Number?
