Never missing a chance to nurture burgeoning operatic talent, the Brooklyn-based American Opera Project hosts a concert of vocal works by a pair of out and proud New York composers—Stefan Weisman and David Del Tredici. Edgy diva Mellissa Hughes and baritone Christopher Herbert star as a couple in need of counseling in Weisman's monodrama Fade, with a libretto by TONY's Theater editor, David Cote. Hughes appears again in the second part, immersing herself in Del Tredici's fanciful neo-Romantic song cycle Haddock's Eyes, based on Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass. Del Tredici himself will be at the piano bench.
