Alvarius B is an alias of Alan Bishop, who wears many hats—you know him as the singer and bassist for defunct experimental rock group Sun City Girls and as founder of the world-folk label Sublime Frequencies. Here he presents his meditative, avant-garde psych pop over two nights, with help from Egyptian-Canadian guitar-oud visionary Sam Shalabi, a group led by veteran critic and poet Byron Coley, and former Time Out New York Music editor Mike Wolf, who's behind the decks for both gigs.
