North Dakota–born, Brooklyn-based singer Ana Egge has been dubbed “the folk Nina Simone” by no less than Lucinda Williams. Expect to hear tonight from her latest, Steve Earle–produced album, Bad Blood. In support, British-born, Brooklyn-residing country mainstay Jan Bell celebrates the release of Dream of the Miner's Child, a concept album (dedicated to her grandfather) chronicling the history of the coal-mining trade in the U.K. and Appalachia.
