Following three high-octane performances of Sofia Gubaidulina's concerto with the Philharmonic, the exquisite violinist is joined by contrabassist Roman Patkoló and an octet of NY Phil musicians for a more intimate gig, featuring the world premiere of Wolfgang Rihm's Dyade for Violin and Double Bass and the U.S. premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki's Duo Concertante for the same combo. Classics by Beethoven and Mendelssohn round out the program.
