Architeuthis Walks on Land + Jessica Pavone's Army of Strangers

Boasting a sound as singular as its name, Architeuthis Walks on Land is the local duo of bassoonist Katherine Young and violist Amy Cimini. As heard on the new Carrier CD Natura Naturans, the pair's improvisations embrace both droney drift and harsh angularity. Also on the bill is a band led by the subtly iconoclastic composer Jessica Pavone.
