L.A.'s Ariel Pink is committed to the DIY vibe that on his early, lo-fi homemade cassette tapes, he beat-boxed in lieu of drum parts. But Pink also carries a CalArts pedigree and an encyclopedic musical memory, from which he pulls dozens of stylistic references that inform his pop songwriting. Tonight he's supported (again) by cult icon and indie forefather R. Stevie Moore—the perfect foil to Pink's creepiness.
