While Mary Zimmerman’s previous productions for the Met have been less hit and more miss, her staging of this Rossini rarity is something of a batty charmer, and has plenty of names going for it as well. Renée Fleming is the title sorceress, whose conquests include Lawrence Brownlee, John Osborn, Antonino Siragusa, Barry Banks and Kobie van Rensburg. Riccardo Frizza conducts.
