Baby Copperhead + Paul Dempsey + Milton + Piers Faccini

With his skewed songs, local experimental folkie Baby Copperhead reminds us of David Grubbs and his ilk. Smoother support comes from Paul Dempsey, the Brooklyn-via-Australia singer-songwriter whose day job is fronting hit-making Aussie band Something for Kate; the songs on his solo debut album, Everything Is True, have a pleasingly dusty, golden feel (not to mention a dash of Crowded House–style melodicism).
