Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

In her recordings for the Naxos label, conductor Marin Alsop established herself as a Barber authority; here she opens a two-concert stand with the composer's Second Essay for Orchestra. Intense pianist Simon Trpceski is featured in Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, and the program ends with Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 ("Eroica") as reorchestrated by Mahler.
