Beth Orton + Sam Amidon

Singer-songwriter Beth Orton’s experiments in reconciling folk and electronica yielded some of the most impassioned and distinctive music of the late ’90s; Sugaring Season, her first new LP since 2006, is out this week on the Anti- label. She shares the bill with Sam Amidon, who sang on her album and whose own postmodern take on primitive folk styles has enlivened many a stage.
