"Bird with Strings"

Jazz at Lincoln Center commemorates Charlie Parker's celebrated sessions with studio orchestras, which resulted in lush disks that respun the legend of the altoist called Bird. Charles McPherson (whose horn subbed for Parker's in the Clint Eastwood biopic) and Wess "Warmdaddy" Anderson play Bird's parts, joined by members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas.
