This is probably the best venue in the city for seeing indie bands, either those on their way up or the ones holding their own. Still, the Bowery also manages to bring in a diverse range of artists from home and abroad. Expect a clear view and bright sound from any spot. The spacious downstairs lounge is a great place to relax and socialize between (or during) sets.

Bowery is probably one of my favorite venues in the city. Mostly because I've been there so often that I've come to know a lot of the staff pretty well and everyone is super adorbz and nice. It's very close to the grand street station which is just a three stop journey home so thats always cool for those late nights. I also love that they do not mess around at bowery. Theres a system and organization. You stand in a single file, you show id, you show ticket. done. Ah, efficiency!!! I love that the space itself is small but feels so big. I could stand in the back and have a full view of the stage. Not the case at many other venues. Plus the balcony offers a bird's eye view thats quite nice as well. Not too fond of the whole bar in the back, makes for sticky floors and spilled drinks. NOT A FAN. I'd personally have drinking separate than the music like youre here to jam not drink. keep that ish separate. but thats everywhere so i dont hold it against bowery. I always love hearing when a band is coming to town and it's at bowery ballroom.
I've been able to catch a few shows at the Bowery Ballroom and have yet to be unsatisfied. The acoustics are great and each show draws in its own eclectic mix. For the drinkers, have no fear as there are plenty of bars and friendly bartenders throughout the space. That being said, make sure to check out the the event details before buying tickets as many shows are strictly 21+. Musicheads seeking an intimate venue (with history), look no further than here.
