There will be no time to catch your breath when curating pianist András Schiff begins his Carnegie Perspectives series, a year-long tribute to Bartók, with performances of the great Bohemian composer's first three piano concertos over two evenings. As if that were not enough, he'll be embarking on this endeavour with his childhood friend Iván Fischer and his exquisite ensemble. Bartók's visionary take on his homeland's folk tunes will be paired with some of Schubert's most gorgeous symphonic masterworks—the Overture to Die Zauberharfe as well as Symphonies No. 5 and No. 9.
