Bushwick Book Club: Brooklyn Noir

A bit more proactive than your average book club, this excellent monthly event asks songwriters to read a book and then pen a few original songs about the work for a concert. Tonight’s participants—including Sweet Soubrette and Susan Hwang—will be riffing on Brooklyn Noir, a new compendium of crime-fiction stories based in BK and endorsed by Marty Markowitz. Amusingly themed snackage will be provided by local baker Little Cupboard. What more could you ask for? Free entry? Done.
