Cassatt Quartet + Ursula Oppens

Of all the string-quartet-plus-pianist concerts this week (of which there are many), this one is by far the most adventurous. The ad hoc fivesome digs into Brahms's monumental PIano Quintet before veering off into less familiar territory with Joan Tower's Dumbarton, Gabriela Lena Frank's Ghosts in the Dream Machine and the world premiere of Fang Man's Images of a Snow Lake.
