Every summer, Central Park SummerStage fills Rumsey Playfield with every type of music under the sun. After the SummerStage concerts (free) and their benefit shows (not free) conclude for the year, the space hosts other paying gigs, minus the SummerStage name.

Alt-rock icon PJ Harvey’s latest release, The Hope Six Demolition Project, is another singular statement. The record balances weighty tone and musical simplicity, as when Harvey builds tracks like “The Ministry of Defence” and “The Words That Maketh Murder”...Rock and indie Wednesday July 19 2017

Fantastic outdoor venue in Central Park that hosts a bunch of concerts during warmer months, some free, some paid. The majority of the venue is general admission, with some tiered seating towards the back. The venue is lined with booths for food, drinks, and merchandise. Porto-potties are the bathrooms, so be prepared. Acts that I have seen here include Solomon Burke, The Go-Go's, MOE, and Mastodon. If you couldn't get tickets, you can always hear the show by sitting outside the venue. Enjoy.
