Last heard in town playing with his extraordinary New Quartet as part of the Village Vanguard's 80th-anniversary celebration, 77-year-old tenor mystic Charles Lloyd returns to town to present his suite Wild Man Dance, also a new Blue Note disc by the same name. Joining him at this Temple of Dendur gig are New Quartet members Jason Moran and Eric Harland, as well as bassist Joe Sanders, lyra player Sokratis Sinopoulos and cimbalom (Hungarian-Gypsy hammered dulcimer) player Miklós Lukács.
