Charlie Haden Quartet West

No matter what setting he's playing in, Charlie Haden always maintains a firm foundation in song, but his own Quartet West has long elicited the bassist's most generous melodicism. Celebrating the combo's 25th anniversary this week, Haden is joined on the bandstand by pianist (and Quartet West cofounder) Alan Broadbent, saxophonist Ravi Coltrane and drummer Rodney Green.
