Cheer-Accident has exhibited incredible tenacity, sticking it out for nearly three decades through myriad lineup changes and label switches. The Chicago outfit's mash-up of jagged neoprog, free-form sound collage, wistful piano pop and absurdist comedy amounts to one of the most diverse and magnificent bodies of work ever to bubble up from the American underground. Also appearing is the cathartic math-rock trio STATS (with TONY staffer Hank Shteamer behind the drums), celebrating the release of its new disc, Crowned. Rounding out the bill are skronky punk-jazz combo Inzinzac, as well as Xaddax, a new project from Nick Sakes (formerly of the visionary avant-rock bands Dazzling Killmen, Colossamite and Sicbay).
