Like most sequels, Berlioz's Lélio has always lived in the shadow of its predecessor, in this case one of the most famous orchestral works of all time, Symphonie fantastique. Riccardo Muti brings the two together as Berlioz intended for an evening of maximal delight. As a bonus for Francophiles, Gerard Depardieu will read the narration in part deux.
