China Crisis

A circa-’80s synth-pop band that managed to straddle postpunk and new wave, China Crisis earned plenty of success at home in the U.K. and a warm cult reception stateside—one of the band's more prominent American fans, Steely Dan's Walter Becker, not only produced the group's third album, Flaunt the Imperfection, but actually joined up for a time.
