Chippy Fest

Heung-Heung Chin (a.k.a. Chippy), the dynamic art designer responsible for the distinctive look of John Zorn's Tzadik label, oversees this festival featuring some of her favorite performers and bands. Highlights this week include sets from Unstoppable Death Machine and Miho Hatori (Thu 19); an unplugged set by gothy art-metallists Vaura (Fri 20); a new Toby Driver chamber project, Ichneumonidae (Sat 21); and an evening built around pianist Pete Drungle, including an Ornette Coleman tribute (Sun 22).
