Chris Dingman Sextet

The year is still relatively young, but vibraphonist Chris Dingman has already notched what's certain to be one of its watershed recordings: Waking Dreams, a gorgeous, contemplative sequence of moody original compositions played by an outstanding band that includes trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire and saxophonist Loren Stillman. The disc hits the streets on Tue 21, but you'll be able to hear it (and buy it, we'd guess) during tonight's celebratory show.
