Club d'Elf with John Medeski and Hassan Hakmoun

Bassist Mike Rivard likens his Boston ensemble, Club d'Elf, to Charles Mingus's volatile jazz workshops; the roaring avant-funk of electric-era Miles, the legato drift of the Grateful Dead, manic Berber bop and hypnotic gnawa all find a place in the mix.
