Connie Crothers studied with Lennie Tristano in the ’60s and ’70s, and has collaborated with giants such as Max Roach and Warne Marsh. The veteran pianist is adept in both bop-fueled outings and exploratory free contexts; she'll run that gamut during this wide-ranging residency, featuring different collaborators for each set. Highlights of the run include a trio with saxist Jemeel Moondoc and bassist Henry Grimes (Aug 20 at 8pm), two sets with Crothers's long-standing working quartet (Aug 23) and a duo with esteemed accordion experimentalist Pauline Oliveros (Aug 24 at 8pm).
