The lead vocalist of Brooklyn bar band extraordinaire the Hold Steady steps out with a solo outing that dials down the boozy rock & roll and opts for a down-home country bent instead. You can’t beat Finn’s knack for dark and wry storytelling—the polite guitars only allow for greater mythologizing on his part. For this special Halloween set, the band will be performing its usual songs while dressed as Paul Stanley from Kiss.
