Damaged by Sunlight + Anthony Coleman plays Jelly Roll Morton

CareFusion Jazz Festival. Pianist Anthony Coleman established himself long ago as one of downtown's premier composer-performers. Lately, however, Coleman's own music has taken a backseat to a serious absorption with the quirky genius of an earlier maverick, Jelly Roll Morton—a passion he'll explore in tonight's 9pm solo performance. At 10:30pm, Coleman appears as one fourth of Damaged by Sunlight, with reedist Ashley Paul, bassist Brad Jones and percussionist Satoshi Takeishi.
