Celebrated electropop nutjob Dan Deacon creates frenetic, schizoid electronic textures in his convulsing take on pop music. And while his stylistic mash-up may seem difficult to duplicate in a performance,Deacon pulls it all off in his sweat-soaked live show that feeds off his rather unconventional gear setup (often standing in the middle of the crowd, surrounded by his electronics). So Cake Shop is pretty much the perfect spot for this type of thing. Tonight he'll join Virginia's the Eternal Summers, perpetrators of fractured, dreamy punk on their recent self-titled EP.
