Darkminster + Natura Morta + Joe Moffett

The trio known as Darkminster (formerly Buckminster) situates itself in the gray area between avant-garde jazz and contemporary composition. Trumpeter Brad Henkel, saxist Nathaniel Morgan and multi-instrumentalist Peter Hanson's blend of structural rigor and oddball inventiveness brings to mind the work of AACM composers such as Roscoe Mitchell and Anthony Braxton. Also on the bill is Natura Morta—the trio of violist Frantz Loriot, bassist Sean Ali and drummer Carlo Costa—and trumpeter Joe Moffett, performing solo.
