Darmstadt 2012: Gamelan Son of Lion

This illuminating program focuses on Barbara Benary's "Braid" pieces. The sequence of slow-changing, cyclical works was composed between 1974 and 1980 for Gamelan Son of Lion, the groundbreaking new-music ensemble Benary founded with fellow composers Daniel Goode and Philip Corner. The program also includes pieces by Goode and Corner, as well as David Demnitz.
